Beautifully-illustrated story of a wolf that gets lost in the snow and must find his way back to his pack。 Would make for a fun read-aloud to PreK kids on the themes of winter, wolves, or perseverance。

Gorgeous illustrations, delightful rhymes, Northern Lights, loving wolves, and good neighbors。 What’s not to like?? 🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺

Text-to Teaching ConnectionThe Way Home For Wolf is such a feel-good tale of friendship for young readers。 Wolf is very strong and independent, he sets a good example for young children what it means to be independent。 After reading the story aloud to the class I will have them ask questions about the book and encourage them to tell me what they liked and disliked about the book。 I will layout a large sheet of paper and support the children as they make a physical map of the story and the differ Text-to Teaching ConnectionThe Way Home For Wolf is such a feel-good tale of friendship for young readers。 Wolf is very strong and independent, he sets a good example for young children what it means to be independent。 After reading the story aloud to the class I will have them ask questions about the book and encourage them to tell me what they liked and disliked about the book。 I will layout a large sheet of paper and support the children as they make a physical map of the story and the different locations the wolf passes through。 Such as the mountains, past the polar bear cave, over the icy banks through the blizzard, and more。 The students will take turns drawing the settings of these locations until they have created the map。 。。。more

Field’s dark palette is a little drab and somewhat ominous at times, especially for a bedtime story, but the well-drawn illustrations effectively dramatize Wilf’s heroic adventure from hubris to humility。 Bright’s rhymes offer a solid, redemptive moral: “Since wherever life takes you, wherever you roam, we’re all just a handful of friendships from home。”

A lovely story about being humble, making friends and helping those in need。 I love that there's some real animals in the book that my daughter can learn about。 A lovely story about being humble, making friends and helping those in need。 I love that there's some real animals in the book that my daughter can learn about。 。。。more

Gorgeous rhythmic language and a fantastic vocab of words that so beautifully describe the arctic landscape。 And then there's the message about the power of friendship and how we depend on each other - and become stronger for it。 Gorgeous illustrations。 Perfection in a picture book。 Gorgeous rhythmic language and a fantastic vocab of words that so beautifully describe the arctic landscape。 And then there's the message about the power of friendship and how we depend on each other - and become stronger for it。 Gorgeous illustrations。 Perfection in a picture book。 。。。more

A lovely picture book about bravery, friendship and coming together。 It tells the story of Wilf the wolf cub who looses his pack when travelling。 Luckily, lots of other animals help him find his way home and he realises he is not truly alone, after all。 The illustrations complement the writing beautifully, this is a sweet story to use in the classroom。

“He loved to be fierce and longed to be grown。 He liked to try everything ALL ON HIS OWN。”Wilf gets separated from his wolf pack but is too proud to call out for help。 When he breaks through the ice, it is a narwhal that helps him out of the water。 The narwhal sets Wilf on a journey toward home, with many of narwhal’s friends to help carry Wilf along。 “We’re all just a handful of friendships from home。”Never be afraid to ask for help when you need it。

Wolfje wil naar huisVertaling,m is niet helemaal goed gedaan, spelfouten en rijmt niet lekker, jammer! Boekje is minder leuk dan die van de leeuw en de eekhoorntjes

Another great book in the series, second only to ‘The Squirrels Who Squabbled’。 This one is a more complex storyline and provides a lot of opportunities for though and - no doubt when Noah is old enough to philosophise - discussion。 The only black mark? That many pages had dark text upon a dark background, making it tricky to read by the light of a bedside lamp。

Wilf is a bit head-strong and wants to be the leader。 But then loses his way and realizes that he doesn’t need to be a leader。 He needs the help from others to make his way back to his pack。 Great arctic animals on display。 The importance of togetherness and strength in unity。 Lend a helping hand。

Story of a lost Wolf cub getting lots of helping finding his way home。 Rhyming text makes for an enjoyable read。 Some beautiful landscape illustrations add to the reading experience。 A good introduction to artic animals。 Some are familiar, some may be new to kids。 If you can forgive the wolves poor parenting, this will make a good bedtime story。 The illustrations, especially of the wolf pup are very endearing。 The ending, especially the last page is heartfelt and heartwarming。

Bookaday # 20。 Rhyming text and lovely cool colors illustrate a dangerous journey brought to a happy ending with the help of some new friends。 Live the narwhal and the little moth at the end。

A very cute rhyming story of a little wolf who wants to be independent, but ends up requiring help from unexpected friends。 Told in a nice rhyming manner with a sweet little lesson and very intriguing illustrations。 This was a good one。 My boys (ages 5 and 3) really liked it。 It's a fun read-aloud with good opportunities for varying voices, vocabulary at multiple levels, and just a twinge of both sadness and danger。 I'm not sure it has the "staying power" of many other Rachel Bright books I've r A very cute rhyming story of a little wolf who wants to be independent, but ends up requiring help from unexpected friends。 Told in a nice rhyming manner with a sweet little lesson and very intriguing illustrations。 This was a good one。 My boys (ages 5 and 3) really liked it。 It's a fun read-aloud with good opportunities for varying voices, vocabulary at multiple levels, and just a twinge of both sadness and danger。 I'm not sure it has the "staying power" of many other Rachel Bright books I've read, but perhaps my expectations were a bit too high。 。。。more

Cute, but incorrect information。 That is unforgivable, especially because it is so clear, even for one who has no background in biology。。。 Unfortunate。
